Taskforce on Nursing Practice: MDCH has charged Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) Jeanette Klemczak to convene a taskforce on Nursing practice. This follows from the strategic planning work of the Ms. Klemczak and other that began with the publication of The Nursing Agenda for Michigan. Since then taskforces on both regulation and were established and have made recommendations that are being worked on through ongoing committees and the Office of the CNE. The charge of the current taskforce is practice and the improvements to practice, regulation and the environment of care that will assist nurses as they provide care for clients to support our citizens in achieving optimal health. Dr Teresa Wehrwein and I are honored to have been selected to serve on this Taskforce with nursing leaders from academe, health care organizations and professional organizations. Below you will find both an overview of the Taskforce on Nursing practice (TFNP) and an issues forum. For the taskforce to be successful in its work it is essential that we hear from nurses throughout the state on matters that impact their practice and inhibit their ability to meet the needs of their clients. Please take a minute to review these materials and consider submitting an issues form on an issues that is impacting your practice.
